Management Team
Roy Fraser
Roy has been with Map Group (UK) for 4 years. During this time Roy has developed the HR and Training teams and developed relationships with training partners and associations. Roy was also responsible for the successful ISO accreditations
Roy has a wealth of experience within HR and Training – and prior to joining our organisation Roy held the position of Managing Director with Map Training where he worked closely with Map Group to deliver training programmes tailored to develop our teams
Sarb Singh
Sarb joined Map group (uk) 8 years ago as an Area Installation Manager in Leeds. He has been instrumental in developing the consumer installation side of the business to its current position – where he is responsible for delivering over 50,000 customer visits each month.
Sarb has held a number of management roles within the Cable industry and has over 20 years operational experience.
Peter Birks
Peter joined Map Group (UK) in December 2008 and since this time has continued to build on the established Network Solutions division
Peter has over 20 years experience in the Communications sector, where he has held various senior management positions in the technology and engineering areas. He started his career with GEC Telecommunications (later GPT), as a systems engineer. In 1994 he moved into the UK Cable industry where he spent 14 years in numerous operational positions, which included Director of Technical Development and Validation, responsible for the development and introduction of all Virgin Media products and IT systems.
Mandy Carter
Mandy joined Map Group (uk) in July 2006 and developed the Central Operations Team. The team are responsible for supporting all the activities within the Map Group. The key focus is improved service both to the internal teams and external customers
Prior to this time Mandy was responsible for Install and Service support functions within the communications sector – and has over 10 years experience in these roles.
Matty Carlin
Matty joined Map Group (UK) in July 2000 as an Apprentice Electrician. After successfully completing his apprenticeship Matty then further developed his technical skills in the areas of Fibre and Data. These skills were then supplemented with several management development qualifications. Matty has carried out various site management roles and has also successfully project managed several developments
More recently Matty has been responsible for strategy and development and his ability to source and embrace new ideas and initiatives will be key to our success
Mike Carlin
Mike was responsible for founding MAP Group (UK) Ltd (formerly Map Electrics Ltd) in 1993 and in combination with the Senior Management team that he rapidly put together, has helped drive the business from start-up to its current position as one of the UK‘s fastest growing and most innovative Independent providers of Professional Technology Services to the Communications Sector. Under Mikes leadership the company has gone from strength-to-strength since 1993 and now has a turnover in excess of £30m p.a and over 600 employees working across a base of clients throughout the UK.
Andrew Long
Andy has been in the Communications industry since 1993 and has held various operational roles. He joined MAP Group (UK) in 1999 as an Operations Manager where he managed teams of engineers installing communication services to business and consumers. Andy moved in to a Regional Managers role in 2004 and has contributed significantly to the successful growth of MAP Group (UK), where he has created a strong ethos of Customer Focus and Quality within our engineering teams. In July 2008 Andy was appointed into the role of Director of Operations and joined the Board in the same month.
David Percival
David joined the company in 2006 as Financial Controller and was appointed to the Board in July 2008. A chartered account and chartered tax advisor by profession, David worked in practice for five years for Jennings Johnson and then Ernst & Young in a variety of audit, accounting and tax roles. He moved into industry in 2001 working for VA Tech/Siemens in their transmission and distribution division, in a variety of financial positions.
Peter Birks
Peter joined MAP Group (UK) in December 2008 as the Network Solutions Director. His remit is to build on the established Network Solutions division by providing network and communication solutions for Core, Metro and Edge infrastructures, designed to meet the needs of todays Fixed and Wireless Network Operators and Internet Service Providers. Peter has over 20 years experience in the Communications sector, where he has held various senior management positions in the technology and engineering areas.
