It is a great time to join the team as the company continues expanding both its client base and its national Fibre and Civils installation operations UK wide.


MAP Group (UK) is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor  to join its Management Team as part of MAP Group South and to reinforce the company’s ‘quality comes first’ reputation and to help drive its ‘getting it right first time’ vision.


Successful candidates will: –

  • Take part in joint walk outs (JWOs) with the client’s representatives to assess on site civils and cabling requirements.
  • Validating completed work and approving of payments by conducting weekly measures with the sub-contractor.
  • Ensure any unfinished site works are recorded and reported in a timely manner against internal targets for “part payment “application.
  • Report weekly on site measures to the Senior contract manager / contract manager.
  • Attend high level meetings with senior management as when required both internally and externally.
  • Assist with invoice management
  • Track Commercial expenditure and its reporting to the senior team.
  • Assist with project cost analysis
  • Assist in P+L management
  • Assist on AFP’S (application for payments) into the client.

The successful applicant requires: –

  • A Full UK Driving License (essential)
  • Telecoms / civils related experience from a commercial perspective (desirable)
  • NRASWA accreditation – (desirable)
  • Experience of UG and OH networks – (desirable)
  • Provable Quantity surveying / commercial acumen – (essential)
  • Experience of Civils measures – (desirable)
  • Experience of cable measures – (desirable)
  • Good communication and I.T. skills with a professional attitude (essential)
  • Key team player – (essential)

It would be beneficial that the successful candidate has knowledge of fibre installation and telecom network builds including Fibre To The Property (FTTP) Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) and traditional underground, and overhead installation builds.


Successful candidates will have strong team and team influencing skills, be confident and comfortable working in partnerships and possess some civils installation knowledge, again supported on the job if required, by the management team. A keen eye for reporting detail and specification,


Strong IT literacy, good knowledge of Microsoft packages, confidence in writing, reporting and presenting audit and other data and other required information at all levels is a minimum requirement for this role as is a methodical, positive can-do team working attitude to positively influence others.
