Map Group (UK) is looking for a full-time permanent Junior Project Planner. The Company is looking for a confident and organised Project Planner to work alongside the Build Manager and Project Manager, playing a crucial, hands-on role in delivering Fibre To The Home rollouts.
Responsibilities
- Develop the maturity of Delivery Plans & Schedules
- Implement Planning & Scheduling best practice
- Develop, establish & maintain integrated schedules from which to monitor, analyse, report, and forecast performance on the build program at a project-by-project level
- Monitor and report on progress against the plan and make changes as required
- Highlight key milestone and critical path issues to members of the team, provide an assessment of the impact of such issues and recommend solutions to correct the position
- Produce scenario-based project plans for review by Senior Management Team & Project Teams
- Analyse and validate quarterly / yearly plans in line with strategy ensuring any proposed deviation from baseline is understood
- Liaise with and support commercial managers to assess and action change
- Cost, revenue & resource forecasting
- Trend analysis
- Liaise with finance to ensure plans are aligned with budgets
- Proactively manage stakeholders
- Continually seek new initiatives and process changes to improve, expand and mature the Planning Practices and capabilities of the organisation
- Develop recovery schedules and contingency plans to meet changed objectives, as necessary
- Provide input to the project’s critical issues risk log. Review planning risks and monitor whether the risk register is updated accordingly
- Monitor and audit contractor plans and planning processes.
- Interrogate contractor’s statement of progress for schedule adherence and payment purposes
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Ability to adapt services to changing requirements within agreed parameters
- Interface with customers and internal team
- Maintaining effective relationships
- PC literate, especially Microsoft Office suite
- Working experience of MS Project (essential), and other project planning tools
- Ability to prioritise and juggle tasks in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment
- Detail oriented and delivery focused with ability to analyse data and present clear summaries & solutions
- A broad knowledge and understanding of the various architecture solutions of a fibre network rollout (preferable)
- Telecommunications experience preferable
- Excellent communicator with proven ability to create & maintain cross functional relationships
- Excellent stakeholder management experience
- Excellent written and spoken English required
- Full clean driving licence
