Openreach is made up of four divisions – service delivery, fibre and network delivery, strategic infrastructure development, and headquarters. They tackle complicated engineering problems – from coordinating works with councils, highways agencies, energy suppliers and landowners, to installing and maintaining the complex kit that provides fibre broadband services.

Openreach engage MAP Group to provide survey/installation services for overhead and underground PON networks. There are currently 30 engineers currently deployed carrying out full end-to-end PON build activities.

The contract includes;

  • Installation of Overhead & Underground PON Network
  • Civils Engineering to repair existing BT infrastructure
  • Network Integrity Testing upon build completion

All Map Group engineers are accredited to Openreach Standards.

The ongoing success of the project includes the assistance provided to Openreach and third party works to underpin quarterly targets. This includes continued delivery of volume to meet quarterly (THP target).

“The project to date has been a huge success. We have enjoyed working together as a partnership with Openreach and this coordinated approach has been key to the continual and successful delivery on the Retro New Sites project.”

Chris Dunbar – Senior Operations Manager.

Why join MAP Group?

There is much more to MAP than an army high-viz jackets working from our fleet of branded vans – they are just the tip of our business iceberg.

Our work in the field is supported by a nationwide team of designers, surveyors, planners, engineers, health and safety experts, trainers and civils managers. Head Office is also home of the Human Resources and Accounts functions along with the Streetworks Department and the wider project teams.

And that work is long-term and financially rewarding.

We are direct employers. You will work for Map Group and enjoy all the associated benefits. If you are in the field, that includes a uniform, a vehicle with no hidden costs and the correct tools for the job. We encourage personal development and career progression, even if that means switching your role within the group. We encourage learning. There is a strong partnership with our neighbours, the DTN Academy which provides MAP with the trained and qualified people to fulfil our growing order book. The DTN is equipped with the latest online and classroom video courses to make learning and qualifications so much easier.

We are as committed to our people as we are to our clients.

We go the extra yard.
Talk to us, you will not regret it!
